COMMERCIAL: Coventry primary care trust is going to formal procurement for a new provider of medical services for asylum seekers, refugees, homeless people and those in insecure housing.
A report by Stephen Jones, chief executive of the Arden PCT cluster, which includes Coventry, said the services, were due to go out to procurement in July.
A combined advertisement and pre-qualification questionnaire were set to be published that month, with an anticipated start date for the contract set for November 2011.
The successful contractor will provide services at the Anchor Centre for homeless people and the vulnerably housed, and at the Meridian practice for asylum seekers and refugees.
The services were previously provided in house by the PCT, but were required to transfer out under the Transforming Community Services programme.
