The NHS national staff survey results are out — get up-to-date with its most important findings on our HSJ Health Check podcast.

Among the takeaways from the staff survey was a worrying rise in violence, with almost 15 per cent of NHS staff reporting they had experienced at least one incident of physical violence from patients, their relatives and members of the public over the last year.

The survey also found an increase in black and ethnic minority staff facing abuse, harassment and bullying, while some other measures of race equality have improved a little.

You can listen to the podcast on the web, or via SpotifyApple Podcasts, and other popular podcast platforms, and hear HSJ senior correspondents Sharon Brennan, Rebecca Thomas, Annabelle Collins and Nick Carding explore these issues.

Also in this episode, Nick Carding discusses his recent revelation of how the NHS could soon breach patient data sharing rules as it misses a key deadline to upgrade systems.
