WORKFORCE: Dartford and Gravesham has said it is still experiencing isolated cases of staff failing to comply with infection control regulations requiring frontline staff to be “bare below the elbows”.

At the trust’s January board meeting, chief executive Susan Acott asked whether compliance with “bare below the elbows” regulations “was still an issue”.

Assistant director of infection prevention and control Peter Orsman stated in reply that there “were still some isolated issues”.

Ms Acott said she had written to three individuals about it, but “had not been alerted to any further breaches”.

She added that she understood some trusts had extended “bare below the elbows” to visitors.
