COMMERCIAL: South Western Ambulance Service is set to take over an out of hours treatment centre from a PCT.
NHS Dorset has agreed in principle to the transfer of St Leonard’s Treatment Centre budget and staff to the trust. A meeting is scheduled for February 2011 to take the transfer forward.
The trust hopes to contract with Avon Valley Out of Hours Service for use of the centre. The trust had originally applied to run the Avon Valley Out of Hours Service, worth approximately £358k, but was unsuccessful as NHS Hampshire decided to continue with the existing provider for a further 12 months.
