FINANCE: The west London hospital trust is £3m over contract with its commissioners, a report to the north-west London cluster reports.

The report said: “Key drivers of the over-performance include increasing GP referral rates and A&E conversion rates.

“A number of further actions are being undertaken including a wide-ranging counting and coding audit and on going stroke and critical care activity reviews (as the trust is continuing to charge for more complex cases than would be expected for a hospital of this type),” it adds.

The report said the opening of the trust’s Urgent Care Centre at the state of July should lower the cost to commissioners.
