STRUCTURE: A major reconfiguration plan in East and North Hertfordshire has stalled awaiting approval from central government, according to board papers.

The trust board approved the business case for the reconfiguration on 22 September 2010, but the chief executive’s report in April said: “Approval of the Trust’s Outline Business Case for Phase 4 which enables the Trust to complete the reconfiguration of acute services on to the Lister site is still awaited from The Department of Health and The Treasury at the time of writing. Since the last Board meeting the Trust has responded promptly to a number of questions posed and at this time we are not aware of any outstanding questions.” The report also said that the trust’s foundation trust application cannot progress until the plan has been aproved.
