STRUCTURE: East Riding of Yorkshire PCT has established a GP commissioning committee, which has been set up as a sub-committee of its board.

Eight chairs and vice chairs were appointed to the committee, called ERY GP Commissioning Consortium Committee (GPCCcom), at the end of May.

The PCT is planning for the committee to develop into a single clinical commissioning group, with five localities: Beverley and Driffield; Goole, Howden and West Wolds; Haltempric; Bridlington; and Holderness.

GPCCcom will take on duties previously delegated to the PCT’s clinical executive committee, in addition to working with the PCT on development towards its authorisation in 2012.

A board paper says: “All the localities have agreed to take some delegated budgets, subject to board approval, from October 2011. It is anticipated that full transfer of agreed budgets will take place in April 2012.”
