FINANCE: East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is to receive extra government funding for new equipment.

Prime minister David Cameron announced on 6 March that around £330m of extra funding would be spent on providing “state of the art” equipment and facilities to improve services for patients.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust will be the recipient of £1.2m of this, which it is set to receive before the end of the financial year.

According to the Department of Health, it is scheduled to be spent on “CT scanner replacement”.

“In East Sussex, around 100 patients per week will now be able to be treated in-house,” the DH said in its press release.
