STRUCTURE: Colin Tomson has been appointed chair of the new NHS Kent and Medway cluster board.
His appointment will run from 1 June 2011 until March 2013.
The cluster is made up of three primary care trusts, NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent, NHS West Kent and NHS Medway.
Mr Tomson has held the post of chair for NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent since October 2006 and was seconded as interim chair of South East Coast for three months in 2009.
He has previous experience at international board level of chemical giant ICI and fragrance company Quest International.
Mr Tomson said: “This is a challenging time for the NHS but we are very fortunate to have high calibre non-executive directors across Kent and Medway who will continue to work with us to ensure the best possible NHS for our patients, staff and public.”
His remuneration for the role of chair is £42,033 per annum.
