PERFORMANCE: GP and consultant to consultant referrals have fallen by three and six per cent respectively at Gloucestershire Hospitals Foundation Trust.
However, other referrals are 12 per cent ahead of plan meaning there is no significant change in the number of referrals. A report to the board states the increase is driven by “increased referrals from physiotherapists referring patients from their interface triage and assessment services to trauma and orthopaedics”.
Elective inpatient spells, emergency spells and outpatient attendances fell by four per cent, two per cent and three per cent respectively. Outpatient procedures, non-elective spellls and emergency attendances increased by nine per cent, two per cent and one per cent.
Overall income was £522,000 ahead of plan.
