FINANCE: The NHS in Great Yarmouth and Waveney’s bids to the regional health authority for funding have included a coordinated discharge and admissions team, according to board papers.

Great Yarmouth and Waveney PCT, its community services arm, and James Paget University Hospitals Foundation Trust made bids to the East of England strategic health authority for development funding. The funding is for non recurrent projects and is taken from a 2 per cent top slice from PCT’s budgets.

A report of the PCT’s GP commissioning sub committee said in a 31 March meeting “a consensus was reached on the appropriate bids to go forward to the SHA.”

It said: “Bids included for submission included a JPH/Community Services coordinated admission and discharge team. Rapid access funding to support the role of case managers and a fund to empower Patient Participation Groups to commission local services.”
