PERFORMANCE: NHS Hampshire has signed contracts to begin developing its planned Oak Park Community Clinic.

The primary care trust signed contracts on August 23 with Solent Community Solutions, a public-private partnership which has already completed five health and social care centres in south east Hampshire.

The development will take place on the site of the existing Oak Park Children’s Service Centre. Planning permission was granted by Havant Borough Council in February this year.

Work is expected to be complete by next August.

The clinic is planned to provide up to 24,000 outpatient appointments, 26,000 diagnostic appointments, 20,000 therapy appointments, 7,000 podiatry appointments, and 10,500 appointments in a new rapid assessment unit.

It will also feature expanded children’s clinical services.

The project will be delivered under the NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust scheme.
