STRUCTURE: A GP service will be set up at Fareham Community Hospital in Hampshire as the “most suitable option” for providing primary care services in the area.
The Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth primary care trust cluster agreed the move yesterday.
The service will provide GP services to patients who currently use nearby Locks Road branch surgery, which is to close – and will have extra space for other local residents.
The move follows a decision by Dr Roope and Partners to close a branch surgery and consolidate their services onto a single site.
The practice will provide services from the new site until a new provider is in place.
