FINANCE: Harrogate and District FT is predicting an overspend of £1.5m by the end of the year, according to a recent finance board report.

It warns that this will “significantly reduce the availability of capital funds for future developments”.

It continues: “This position must be improved in the coming months in order that planned developments can take place.”

The trust has already spent more than planned on pay in the first two months of the financial year particularly in medicine, which relates to costs of medical staff for the A&E covering vacancies and staff sickness.
