FINANCE: Harrogate and District Foundation Trust was £790,000 behind plan for the period to the end of November.
A report to the board in February said this was mainly due to overspends on medical staff pay and less income than expected from PCTs.
”The hospital has been less busy than expected in the eight months to the end of November, both from NHS and private patients. There are plans in place to ensure that the trust continues to be a hospital of choice for patients when they choose where to have their treatments,’ said the report from the finance director.
The trust had a £1.6m surplus at the end of November.
