STRUCTURE: Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is looking for more members, and may try to work through GP practices to find them.
A paper to the board of governors said: “Our current membership stands at 15,578 with 45 to process. We remain a little below the line to achieve 16,000 by 31 March 2011 as reported to Monitor.
“The [governor working group] urged governors to be more active recruiting new members. Hospital entrance recruiting with volunteer governors recommenced on 20 January. It is suggested that [the trust] could become more proactive with GPs following the introduction of Transforming Community Services on 1 April 2011.”
The hospital is taking on community services under TCS.
