WORKFORCE: Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has been judged to be one of the top 100 gay-friendly employers in the country.

The 2013 Workplace Equality Index is compiled by charity Stonewall as a tool for employers to measure their efforts to tackle discrimination and create inclusive workplaces for lesbian, gay and bisexual employees.

Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust was rated number 58, the fourth highest placed healthcare organisation in the list this year. It was number 73 in the index last year.

Only five other health sector organisations made the top 100. These were Nottingham Healthcare NHS Trust at number four, London Ambulance Service Trust at number 22; South East Coast Ambulance Service at 35; and Liverpool Community Health Trust and Kent Community Health Trust jointly at 86.
