STRUCTURE: Three GP groups within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale PCT have merged to form a single CCG, NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale CCG.
A paper to the HMR locality board says a vote of all 39 GP practices “resulted in a 92% vote in favour of a single CCG for HMR with a strong locality focus”.
Panel interviews resulted in Dr Chris Duffy as clinical chair and Dr Paul Laker as clinical vice chair to the new emerging CCG.
Lesley Mort, currently the PCT’s locality director, will be “assigned to the CCG Chief Officer role and will also be the CCG Accountable Officer for the shadow period”.
The paper says: “In HMR, the Chief Officer, Lay and other interim senior management appointments to the shadow CCG will be assigned from the current PCT executive, non executive and senior management workforce, where the required level of skill, knowledge and experience is available. Competitive processes may need to apply for some of these posts.”
Assignment of managers to the roles of Director of Finance, Head of Finance, Quality and PPE, Governance and Corporate Affairs and Commissioning, are underway.
