Chris Town has been appointed chief executive of North Peterborough primary care trust. He currently fills the same post in North Peterborough pr imar y care group, and was previously director of primary and community care at North West Anglia health authority.

The chair of North Peterborough primary care trust will be Mohammad Choudhary, a nonexecutive director of Peterborough Hospitals trust.

Sue Leggate will chair Epping Forest PCT.She was previously vice-chair of North Essex health authority.

David Panter is to become chief executive of Hillingdon PCT.He is chief executive of Hillingdon HA.Russell Barnes-Heath will become finance director of the new organisation.The chair is Sarah Pond, currently vice-chair of Hillingdon HA.

East London and the City Menta l Hea lth trust's chief executive is to be Peter Horn , currently chief executive of Newham Community Services trust, a post he has held since 1995.

Geraldine Huka has been appointed chair. She is acting chair of Newham Community Health Services trust.Debbie Walmsley, a grants officer for Comic Relief, and Roger Bernard Daily-Hunt, a surveyor and non-executive director of City and Hackney Community Services trust, have been appointed non-executive directors.

An international colloquium in celebration of the life of Professor Ken Newell, a pioneer of the primary healthcare movement, was held at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, where he was professor of international health, last week.Professor Newell died 10 years ago, Aidan Thomas, chief executive of Epping Forest primary care group, will stay on as chief execut ive when the PCG becomes a primary care trust . He is a former chief executive of Essex and Herts Community trust.
