The BBC's themed NHS day failed to capture the public's attention last week, with viewing figures showing just 4.4 million people tuning in for the peak-time 7.30pm slot on Wednesday. This compares with 11.5 million who switched on to watch EastEnders at the same time on the previous evening.
Viewing figures for Your NHS continued to fall throughout the evening.A BBC spokesperson said: 'I do not really think this is a comparable figure because EastEnders doesn't transmit on Wednesdays.'She added: 'NHS Day was not about winning the ratings. It was an attempt to do something bold and innovative.'
