The better care fund is designed to integrate health and social care

Ms Radmore left in the summer to become interim chief executive of Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust after seven months as director of the fund. She replaced Andrew Ridley after he was appointed director of NHS England’s South region.

In a note to members of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, Mr Kealy said he had previously been the NHS England lead in the programme team during the preparation stage last year and has since worked on clinical commissioning group planning and assurance.

He wrote: “I can assure you I’ve heard the plea from many of you to align the better care fund planning process with the wider NHS planning round.

“I’m looking forward to getting stuck back in to the better care fund – it’s a really important programme and should have a real impact on peoples’ lives. I look forward to meeting many of you as I get out and about around the country over the next few months.”
