Warrington borough council has launched a hunt for an organisation to host its local involvement networks before these new patient groups have been enshrined in law.
The council has advertised for a host organisation in the Official Journal of the European Community before LINks have officially replaced patient and public involvement forums.
The advert says the award will go to 'the most economically advantageous tender'. The terms of the contract described include 'a host organisation for a LINk to carry out the following activities: promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of local health and social care services'.
The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill, containing the proposals for LINks, is in the House of Lords.
