New cultures and methods of working together are the key to more effective health and social care services, according to a guide published today by the Care Services Improvement Partnership Integrated Care Network.

The Practical Guide to Integrated Working outlines some of the central challenges experienced in local care economies, and offers a new approach towards the integration of health and care services.

CSIP Networksnational programme lead Jeremy Porteus said: "The updated guide is a response to the significant policy changes of recent years, including the Department of Health's drive towards the cohesion and co-ordination of health and social care as outlined in the recent ministerial concordat Putting People First."
