The Department of Health has published its proposals for managing failing NHS hospitals and trusts.
The regime is the last step for providers subject to previous recovery actions by Monitor or the NHS performance regime.
It proposes appointing an administrator to take control of the trust to ensure it continues to provide safe and effective services for patients. The administrator would also be required to produce a report and consult on proposals for the future of the trust.
