Former Frenchay Hospital estates manager David Smart has been sent for trial at Bristol Crown Court on corruption charges following an investigation of the way £1m of contracts were awarded.
Smart, of Oldland Common, Bristol, faces three charges of corruption and three of conspiracy under the Public Bodies Corrupt Practices Act. He is charged with four other men.
Chris Boulton, of Downend Common, Bristol, and Ian Stone, of West Littleton, near Bath, each face two charges of corruption and conspiracy to commit corruption. Keith Hawkins, of Longwell Green, Bristol, faces one charge on each of the two counts. Harold Webb, of Trowbridge, also faces one charge on each count.
