The chief executive sent in to 'turn around' two no-star trusts in succession has been given a role as a 'roving troubleshooter' in the South East.

Jan Filochowski (pictured), who has been on secondment to nostar Royal United Hospital Bath trust since July last year, will be part of a performance and delivery support team across Kent and Medway, Surrey and Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and Thames Valley strategic health authorities.

Before Mr Filochowski joined RUH Bath, he was chief executive of Medway trust which he took from no stars to two in the course of a year.

Mr Filochowski, who will take up post in the summer, will be part of a team of senior managers working across the four SHAs to provide short to medium-term temporary assistance to organisations and health communities facing serious management challenges.

Kent and Medway SHA chief executive Candy Morris said Mr Filochowski had 'demonstrably turned around not just one but two ailing trusts'.
