Ambulances are being temporarily diverted from University College London Hospitals foundation trust accident and emergency departments today after a fire last night.
The fire broke out in the trust's Rosenheim building at around 2.30am today.
The building, which is used primarily for outpatient clinics, has its own fire system, which automatically sent a message to the fire and rescue service. Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze at about 6am.
All patients due to attend outpatient clinics in the Rosenheim today have been contacted and told to go to an alternative venue or attend on a different date.
UCLH's Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and Obstetric Hospital, which is next to the Rosenheim building, has not been affected by the fire. No patients have been evacuated from the maternity hospital, although elective admissions have been suspended for the time being.
Walk-in patients are still being seen in A&E.
