The National Schizophrenia Fellowship has called on the government to reconsider the level of resources spent on mental health tribunals following a High Court ruling that the human rights of people detained under the Mental Health Act had been breached.Thousands of former and existing mental health patients who have been compulsorily detained in hospitals could be eligible for compensation in the light of the ruling.NSF chief executive Cliff Prior said: 'The government must immediately rethink the level of resources it devotes to funding mental health tribunals. The courts have recognised a widespread problem and have been told to act without delay.'
