The British Medical Association has called on GPs to hold the government to its promises to adequately fund general practice, by voting 'yes' to the new GP contract so it can then be priced.GPs will be balloted on the contract proposals next week, with balloting closing on 8 July and the result being announced in mid-July.BMA GPs committee chair Dr John Chisholm said in a letter to all GPs: 'Without support from the profession to go on to the next stage, it will not be possible to test the government's promises to the public on the NHS.'
