The cost of in vitro fertilisation is between 2,000 and 3,000 per cycle according to Department of Health estimates. There were 686 recorded injuries to NHS staff in Wales in 1997-98, up from 569 the previous year, according to Health and Safety Executive figures released by junior environment minister Angela Eagle.
