The commissioners of the government review of health inequalities have been announced. The review is being chaired by University College London professor of epidemiology and public health Sir Michael Marmot

The 11 commissioners include national workforce director Dame Carol Black, Royal College of Physicians president Professor Ian Gilmore, Birmingham University professor of health policy and management Chris Ham, East London and City Mental Health trust chair Baroness Molly Meacher, Young Foundation director Professor Geoff Mulgan and Royal College of Nursing and Royal College of Midwives vice president Baroness Julia Cumberlege.

The review is intended to look at health inequalities beyond 2010 and set targets for reducing them.
