A number of senior managers and leaders in the health service have received honours in the Queen's birthday honours.

North East strategic health authority chair Peter Carr has been knighted for his services to the NHS. Several senior managers were made Commanders of the British Empire, including Humber Mental Health Teaching trust chief executive Linda Glasby, University Hospital Birmingham foundation trust chair John Charlton, chair of the Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital trust Angela Jones, chair of the Royal College of GPs Professor Mayur Lakhani, Department of Health regional public health director Dr Rashmita Shukla and acting director of the London Development Centre and former chair of Wandsworth PCT Melba Wilson.

Others being made a CBE include Hereford Healthcare trust chair Cecily Moore, DoH director of workforce capacity, analysis and HR Flora Goldhill, service involvement director at mental health charity Together Anne Beales and former West Midlands SHA executive director of nursing Kathryn Sallah.
