Twins Hollie and Owen Hammond have their ears tested as part of United Lincolnshire Hospitals trust's newborn hearing screening programme. The programme, run with the county's primary care trusts, will have two hearing screening teams based at Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. The scheme is designed to tackle permanent congenital hearing impairment, which affects around 900 babies a year in the UK.
