HSJ editor Alastair McLellan has been named writer of the year in the business and professional category of this year's Periodical Publishers Association Awards, the Oscars of the magazine industry.
The judges commended Mr McLellan for demonstrating 'a highly readable style with a good structure and good factual content'.
Mr McLellan won the award for news stories on NHS regulation and performance management, including the first interview with foundation trust regulator Bill Moyes. This is the second time he has won the award.
News editor Laura Donnelly was shortlisted in the same category and HSJ columnist Michael White was shortlisted in the columnist of the year category.
