HSJ has won the most prestigious award in the publishing industry: business media brand of the year, recognising its excellence across its publishing, digital and events activities.

The award was made by the industry body for magazines, the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA).

The judges highlighted its exclusive news and best practice content in the magazine and online, HSJ’s range of events, and the launch of Healthcare 100, the first independent analysis of the health sector’s top workplaces.

They said: “Health Service Journal has proven it has influence and reach with both the press and with government. It has responded well to 2009’s changing landscape and has been very clever and innovative with its databank, Healthcare 100.”

To win the award HSJ beat other shortlisted magazines including Times Educational Supplement, Property Week, Computer Weekly and Farmers Weekly.

HSJ was also shortlisted as weekly business magazine of the year.
