Alison Moore, one of HSJ 's regular freelance writers, has won the top prize in this year's Medical Journalism Awards for her HSJ news story on dirty hospitals. The story, published on 4 January, was widely picked up by the general media, and the judges said they felt Ms Moore 'broke the story, about clean-up hit squads tackling the problem, with real panache'. The£1,000 prize for the best news story in a professional magazine was awarded at a ceremony in London last week and was sponsored by Norwich Union Healthcare.
