A coalition of health and voluntary groups this week launched a campaign to fight £6m of cuts proposed by Bedfordshire health authority over the next three years. The coalition includes local branches of Unison, the Royal College of Nursing, the British Medical Association, the Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association and the medical staff committee of Bedford Hospital, where acute beds are to be cut to save £800,000.
