The Department of Health has published a service delivery agreement describing how the promises in the NHS plan are going to be achieved between 2001-04.

The agreement spells out in detail how the key 'must do' targets making up the plan's public service agreement will be delivered. It includes the DoH's contribution to other government public service targets.

A survey by charity Arthritis Care of 1,500 people with the condition in 43 towns and cities across the UK reveals that over 80 per cent do not have a basic knowledge of arthritis, its management or treatment options.

Food critic and former Masterchef TV presenter Loyd Grossman is to head a panel of celebrity chefs including Anton Edelman, head chef of the Savoy, and Mark Hix, head chef of the group which owns The Ivy and Le Caprice, to produce a national NHS menu, it was announced this week.
