Rachel Slater has been appointed nursing director at Weston Area Health trust.Ms Slater was previously assistant director of nursing at Hereford Hospital trust.
Richard Hipperson has taken up the joint post of director of estates and facilities at Barnsley District General Hospital trust and Barnsley primary care trust.He joins the trusts from a 17-year career at Centre Parcs, where he was UK facilities manager.
The Royal College of Nursing has appointed Liz Hewett executive director for service delivery.Ms Hewett was previously director of RCN Wales.She qualified in 1974 and most of her clinical career has been in acute settings. In 1995 she became executive director of nursing at Ceredigion and Mid Wales trust.Tom Sandford has been appointed director of RCN England.
Previously, Mr Sandford was regional director, RCN London region, and then interim manager, RCN England.
Professor Brian Duerdon has taken up the new post of inspector of microbiology at the Department of Health.Professor Duerdon was previously director of clinical quality for the Health Protection Agency.He has also held posts at the Public Health Laboratory Service.
Dr Nick Goodwin has joined the research and development programme at the national co-ordinating centre for NHS service delivery and organisation as a senior lecturer.Dr Goodwin was previously a lecturer at Birmingham University's health services management centre.His main research interests are in the management of primary care organisations and health and social networks.
Home care and community healthcare service provider Clinovia has named Dr Tony Felton as medical director.A practising GP, Dr Felton joins Clinovia from the national programme for IT, where he was a senior healthcare consultant.
