Steve McGuire has been appointed by Guy's and St Thomas'Hospital trust as its director of capital and estate management.He comes to the trust from Leeds Teaching Hospitals trust, where he is director of property and support services.Before joining the NHS in 1992, Mr McGuire worked for the British Coal Corporation.
Anthony Levy is the new chair of Bromley Hospitals trust.
His last recent role was vice-chair and nonexecutive director of South East London strategic health authority.Additionally, Mr Levy is chair of Bromley Citizens Advice Bureaux.
The first chief executive of the Health Protection Agency is to be Dr Pat Troop.Currently deputy chief medical officer, Dr Troop will be shadow chief executive of the organisation from March.The HPA will come into being on 1 April.She has worked as a public health professional since 1975.
Isabel Hemmings is joining Sheffield Children's trust as executive director of service improvement and operations.For the last five years Ms Hemming has been with Community Health Sheffield trust.
The membership of the eight-strong NHS University executive has been announced.Their roles are:
Professor Bob Fryer, chief executive; Professor Philip Candy, director of learning strategy and standards; Jeffrey Davies, secretary and head of corporate affairs; Sue Eggleton, director of resources and planning;
Derek Grover, director of communications and information;
Neil Johnson, director of development; Catherine Hastings, director of communications and information; Neil Johnson, director of learning programmes; Tony Laurance, director of collaborations and operations.
St Helens council and St Helens primary care trust have jointly appointed Nick Dyer as assistant director of social care and health for older people.Mr Dyer has worked for several social services departments in Greater Manchester and more recently as senior strategy manager in Cheshire.
