Paul Grant has been named chief executive of Surrey Ambulance Service.
Mr Grant, nurse executive director at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals trust since 1998, takes up his new post at the beginning of April.
Susan Malthouse has been appointed by Royal Liverpool Children's trust as a non-executive director.
Ms Malthouse is a partner in a solicitors' firm and has previously been a teacher and lecturer. She has also served for nine years as a non-executive director at the Cardiothoracic Centre Liverpool trust.
During this time she was the lead complaints convenor.
Director of finance and performance/deputy chief executive at Essex Rivers Healthcare trust, Bill Shields, will be leaving Colchester later this month to join Portsmouth Hospitals trust, the biggest non-teaching hospital trust in England, as director of finance.
Trish Morris-Thompson has taken up post as director of nursing at North East London strategic health authority and North East London workforce development confederation.Until August 2002, Ms Morris Thompson was director of nursing and midwifery at Birmingham Women's Healthcare trust.Most recently she was a healthcare management consultant.

Cumbria and Lancashire strategic health authority consultant in public health Peter Tiplady has retired after nearly 30 years of service.Mr Tiplady qualified as a doctor in 1965.His public health career began in 1973 with Carlisle city council. In 1979, Mr Tiplady was appointed community medicine specialist for the former Cumbria health authority and in 1986 he was made director director of public health for North Cumbria health authority.He also had several British Medical Association commitments.
