Fiona Wise has taken up post as chief executive of Ealing Hospital trust.Ms Wise has experience in both acute and primary care services, having been chief executive of Enfield Community trust and interim chief executive of Stoke Mandeville Hospital trust. She was seconded to Ealing as chief executive in September.
Professor Antony Sheehan has been appointed director of care services at the Department of Health, working in the standards and quality group.Professor Sheehan moves from his joint role as group head of mental health at the DoH and chief executive of the National Institute for Mental Health in England.
Alan Perkins has left his job as chief executive at Queen Elizabeth Hospital trust in south London.He took up a lead position at the Department of Health's independent treatment sector initiative last week.Mr Perkins had been chief executive since 1999. John Pelly, chief operating officer at Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital, will take over as acting chief executive from January.
Rotherham General Hospital has appointed Alison Grundy as general manager for surgical specialties.
Previously, Ms Grundy was general manager for critical care at Barnsley District General Hospital and before that she worked at Leeds Teaching Hospital.
Former finance director Michael Burke has been appointed as a non-executive director at Newcastle primary care trust.Mr Burke held posts at Newcastle and South Tyneside for 17 years, including finance director and head of internal audit.
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital trust has appointed Michael Cohen as a non-executive director.Mr Cohen was a chief executive of a housing association until his retirement in 2001.He now works as a consultant for housing associations and local authorities.
Other non-executive director appointments include Jeremy Isaacs, chief executive, Europe and Asia, of investment bank Lehman Brothers, and corporate finance professional Ellen Schroder, both at St Mary's trust.
