I an Mullen has been appointed chair of Forth Valley board.He is currently chair of Forth Valley Acute Hospitals trust - a position he has held since 1999.Mr Mullen is also deputy lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk.

Linda Stephens has been made operations manager at Middleton St George Hospital and Care Homes, Darlington, which is run by Affinity Healthcare. She is moving from the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability in London, where she was hospital manager.

David Eggleston has become marketing and fundraising manager at the Disabilities Trust.He joins from the National Children's Bureau.

Eight new members of the Genetics and Insurance Committee have been appointed.Professor David Latchmann is dean and professor of human genetics at the institute of child health, London, and chief executive of the London Ideas Genetic Knowledge Park.Audrey Ardern-Jones is senior clinical nurse specialist and cancer genetics counsellor at the Royal Marsden trust, London.Brian Yates is chair of the Consumers'Association and Julie Foxton is a qualified nurse and adviser to the Family Heart Association.

Timothy Reynolds is professor of chemical pathology and associate medical director (audit) at Queen's Hospital, Burton on Trent.Phillip Brown is head of underwriting at Zurich Financial Services and Alan Tyler is the health and welfare strategy manager of life and health re-insurer Swiss Re Life and Health.David Paul is group actuary at BUPA and a member of the Institute of Actuaries Genetics Group.Three members have been re-appointed: Professor Dian Donnai, Professor Timothy Bishop and Susan Watkin.

Dr Tim Bowker and Professor Jeremy Pearson have been made associate medical directors at leading charity the British Heart Foundation.Dr Bowker, a consultant cardiologist at St Mary's Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital in London, will cover education and care.Professor Pearson is being seconded from King's College London and will cover research.
