Maggie Boyle is the new chief executive of Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals trust. She moves from North Glasgow University Hospitals trust.Ms Doyle is a registered general nurse, graduate of the Institute of Personnel Management and member of the Institute of Health Management.
Delya Savill has been re-appointed as a non-executive director at Southend Hospital trust.Mrs Savill has been a non-executive director since 1994 and will serve a further two years. In her time with the board, Mrs Savill has been involved in the hospital's complaints-handling system and is chair of the audit committee.
The new County Durham and Darlington Acute Hospitals trust has named John Saxby as its chief executive.Mr Saxby has been acting chief executive since the trust's formation in October.He was chief executive of Darlington Memorial Hospital trust from 1993 and then chief executive of South Durham Health Care trust following a merger in 1998.
Three new non-executives for South Staffordshire Healthcare trust have been confirmed.They are Professor Roger Evans, Eleanor Chumley-Roberts and Stephen Jones.
Following Ian Hay Davison's decision to step down as interim chairman of mental health charity SANE, deputy chairman Patrick Macdougall has taken over as chair.Mr Macdougall is a qualified lawyer and chartered accountant.He is also non-executive director in the Lord Chancellor's department.
Hugh Lamont, director of communications at North West regional office, has decided to retire from the Department of Health after 19 years.
Professor Lynne Turner-Stokes, chair, rehabilitation medicine at King's College London and director, regional rehabilitation unit, Northwick Park Hospital, has been named deputy chair of the external reference group for the national service framework for long-term conditions.Department of Health director of policy and planning Andy McKeon will co-chair.
