Jenny Secker, newly appointed professor of mental health, is the first joint appointment between a university and a mental health trust.Professor Secker will be accountable to both Anglia Polytechnic University and South Essex Partnership trust.Her role will include service review, assisting change and supporting research development .
Cathy Stone is to be the new chief nurse at East Sussex Hospitals trust.
She is a practising nurse and midwife, and before her appointment has been acting chief nurse at the Conquest Hospital.
Ms Stone came to the trust from Isle of Wight Healthcare trust, where she was head of family and primary care services.
Derwentside primary care trust has appointed Helen Tucker as director of operational services, clinical governance and head nurse.Ms Tucker joins from Newcastle Hospitals trust, where she was lead nurse and lead manager for cancer and palliative care services.
Ms Tucker's new role will see her working with all staff groups to develop patient services. She will also provide advice to the PCT board and executive committee on all aspects of nursing.
Linda Pepper has been appointed as a lay member to the Commission for Health Improvement.Ms Pepper is chief officer of Trafford community health council in Greater Manchester.She has previously worked as a community education manager and has been involved in health and social care for several years.
Kurt Moxley has been made director of the Oxfordshire dug and alcohol action team.He is currently strategic commissioner with Oxfordshire county council.He will take up his new post in the new year.
Barbara North, former chair of Mid Hampshire primary care trust, is the new chair of Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare trust.She replaces David Livermore, who has retired from the post after six years.
Before that he was a non-executive director of Winchester health authority.
