Pippa McNichol has been appointed by Homerton University Hospital trust as a non-executive director.Ms McNichol has a long history of community work: she has been a trustee of a London drugs charity for eight years and is vicechair of the Odyssey Trust. She has also had several years' experience in NHS management.
Adrian Conroy has joined the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability as donor development manager.
Mr Conroy's responsibilities will include developing and implementing a donor strategy at the west London-based hospital.This is part of the medical charity's refocusing on fundraising.Mr Conroy was previously a consultant in the internet industry.
Merlin Wilce and Rona Ellis have been named by Leeds Mental Health Teaching trust as its two new nonexecutive directors.
Mr Wilce was previously chair and vice-chair of Leeds community health council and Ms Ellis is a senior lecturer in health, policy and nursing at Huddersfield University.The trust has also appointed Brendan Fatchett as associate director of corporate affairs.
Rodney Ireland has taken up post as chair of the Isle of Wight Healthcare trust, replacing Allan Munds.Mr Ireland has been a non-executive director of the trust since 1999.He has also been active over a number of years in social welfare and charitable organisations.
Four new non-executive directors have been appointed to the new County Durham and Darlington Acute Hospitals trust.The trust was created following a merger in October.The new non-executive directors are John L Dixon, who has many years'experience in financial management and strategic planning within the NHS, Charles Magee, also chairman of Durham county council and a director at Teesside Airport, Valerie Ward, a local magistrate, and Tony Wolfe who, before the merger, was on the board of South Durham Health Care trust.
Beryl Balls has been made a non-executive director at Northumberland, Tyne and Wear strategic health authority.Mrs Balls, an economist, is currently a deputy agent at the Bank of England's agency for the North East.She has previously held several non-executive posts in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
