Jan Sobieraj has started as chief executive of Barnsley District Hospital trust after moving from his previous position of chief executive at South Lincolnshire Healthcare trust. He has replaced Sue James, who left to become director of the Trent Leadership Centre and head of development at Trent regional office.
Jane Hore is the new chair designate of Lowestoft primary care trust, which becomes fully operational on 1 April.
Ms Hore, deputy leader of Suffolk county council, has been a non-executive director of Suffolk health authority since 1997.
Basildon and Thurrock General Hospitals trust has appointed Anwar Vanderman as a non-executive director for four years. Ms Vanderman has spent most of her working life as a teacher and is involved with Victim Support locally.
David Wood, chief executive of Aintree University Hospitals trust, is leaving the trust to lead the strategic development of hospital services across North Merseyside. Mr Wood, who has been at the trust for nine years, will head a review of acute services in Liverpool and Sefton.
Arthur Sandford is continuing as chair of Christie Hospital trust, Manchester, for the next two years, following his reappointment last month. Mr Sandford was chief executive of Manchester city council between 1992 and 1998. The trust has also appointed Professor Tony Freemont and Gillian Easson as non-executive directors. Professor Freemont is the only professor of osteoarticular pathology in the country, at Manchester University.
Michael Dye and Dr Brian Webster have been re-appointed as non-executive directors of Wirral and West Cheshire Community trust. They have both been non-executive directors since 1997.
Rick Tompkins has been appointed non-executive director at Leeds Community and Mental Health Services Teaching trust.
Mr Tompkins is a chartered public finance accountant and has worked in financial management.
