Jon Crockett has taken up the post of chief executive of Wolverhampton health authority, having previously been director of finance and deputy chief executive.

Sheila Foley, chief executive of Rampton Hospital Authority, will be working with the prison health taskforce from the beginning of April. Her remit will be to lead on the mental health agenda.

Laura Sharpe, currently chief executive of City and Hackney primary care group and acting chief executive of City and Hackney Community Services trust, has been appointed chief executive of City and Hackney primary care trust.

The chief executives of the new primary care trusts in Newcastle and North Tyneside have been appointed. Bob Smith, currently chief executive of Newcastle East and West PCGs, will head Newcastle PCT while Pam McDougall, currently acting chief executive of Whitley Bay and Riverside PCGs, will be chief executive at North Tyneside.

Shaun Brogan, currently chief executive of Ridgeway PCG, has been appointed chief executive of the new Vale of Aylesbury PCT, which comes into operation on 1 April.

Janet Kells, currently a member of Lothian health board, will be chief executive of the new Kingston PCT, formed from Kingston and District Community trust and Kingston PCG after 1 April.

Professor Louis Smidt, chair of Brent, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Mental Health trust, will be chair of the proposed new West London Mental Health trust. He was chief executive of Camden and Islington Community trust between 1993 and 1997.
