Andrew Reed has been appointed chief executive of Bedford Hospital trust after a year as chief executive of Bedfordshire health authority.Mr Reed was previously directorof policy and performance management at Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth HA.

Helen Hally is to become director of nursing and senior nursing policy adviser in a joint post between Haringey primary care trust and Middlesex University.Ms Hally, who will take up the new position in September, is currently director of nursing at Barnet, Enfield and Haringey mental health trust.

Stephen Eames, currently chief executive of West Hertfordshire Hospitals trust, is to become chief executive of North Staffordshire Hospital trust.

Mark Butler has become director of human resources at the Scottish Executive health department.Mr Butler was formerly chief executive at Worcester Royal Infirmary.

Carole Heatly has joined Bromley Hospitals trust as operations director and deputy chief executive.Ms Heatly was formerly director of operations at Borders General Hospital trust.

Christine Lenihan has been appointed chair of NHS 24, Scotland's first round-the-clock nurse-led telephone service.Ms Lenihan, who is a former nurse, is currently director of marketing at Cabal Communications, and holds a ministerial appointment as chair of the Scottish University for Industry.

Linda Kelly has taken up the post of chief executive of the Parkinson's Disease Society.Ms Kelly was previously UK president of Astra Pharmaceuticals.

Dr John Marshall has taken up his role as regional appointments commissioner in the NHS Appointments Commission.He has left his previous position as chair of County Durham and Darlington health authority to take up the job.
