John Watkinson, chief executive of Sherwood Forest Hospitals trust, has been appointed to a new post at the Audit Commission where he will work on issues connected with the NHS plan.

Jeffrey Worrall, chief executive of South Derbyshire health authority, will be seconded as chief executive of the trust until 31 March 2002.

The Health Technology Board for Scotland has appointed Dr Harpreet Kohli as its medical adviser.He will lead the process for providing HTBS comments on all National Institute for Clinical Excellence technology appraisal guidance.Dr Kohli was previously a consultant in public health medicine at Lanarkshire health board.

Sir John Sulston who, as former director of the Wellcome Trust's Sanger Centre, led the UK part of the international human genome project, has been appointed a member of the Human Genetics Commission.
